NCAA Week 5 Free Picks Oregon (-4) over Washington St. 2 Units. No time to sit back for high flying Ducks starting conference play against a tough foe in the Cougars. Washington State’s offense has been solid averaging around 30 points per game but they have been kicking too many field goals averaging between 3 and 4 per game. Akron (-15) over Buffalo. 2 Units. The Zipps have looked Zippy on offense and they get a chance to beat up on the listless Buffalo Bulls who are just terrible wherever they play. Ole Miss/Texas OVER (Taken off Friday due to inability to bet the game) Subscribers Picks Minnesota (-2) over Penn State. 3 Units. Penn State has not looked good this season and Paterno has been slow as usual to insert younger more talented players ahead of seniors who stuck it out. The Minnesota offense will put up lots of points and yards this week in their first real challenge of the season. Iowa (-7) over Michigan St. 3 Units. Iowa has really played well to start the season while the Spartans have continued their 2 + year home hangover going 4 -13 ATS in Spartan Stadium. After coming out of nowhere for a big win last weekend at South Bend, Michigan State should revert to their folding form against superior talent. N.C. St (-18) over North Carolina. 3 Units. Poor Carolina, they have not improved over last season and the offense may be worse. N.C. State will play strong in their conference home opener. (Game removed due to noone taking bets on it Friday afternoon, but it was betable on Saturday) (Will not count in the weeks totals) Texas / Tulane over 61.5. 2 Units. Texas has the offense this season but the defense lost too many talented players to be up to snuff this year again. Tulane has a great passing and running attack but a gambling defense. The Green Wave defense may cause a few turnovers but will give up too many big plays in the process. Arkansas (-1) over Alabama. 3 Units. Look for Arkansas to lay it all on the line this week before their bye to show that they are a team to beat in the SEC West. New Bama HC Mike Shula has looked like a fish out of water on the sidelines even with Daddy Don helping him from the Press Box and on the field. Bama’s 5 game home stand will end with a whimper. Nevada (-18.5) over SMU. 3 Units. Did anyone see last week’s highlights from SMU’s loss to Oklahoma St? The Mustang defensive coaches should all be fired for leaving WR Woods in single coverage to catch 7 TD passes. Of course there was not time to fire them and SMU would go to 0-4 SU & ATS against several Texas high school teams as well. Nevada is tough on both sides of ball and should win by 30. Added: (Game was off the board, now back on as of 11 AM Friday) Central Florida (-10) over Kent State. 2 Units. Central Florida finally enters conference play after some tough road losses to Big East powers. Kent has shown some life this season, but the Knights will push hard for a big road win. |
