NFL Week 1 Free Picks Thursday Night Jets (+3) over Redskins. 2 Units. The Jets should be a decent team even without Pennington at QB for a while. The Redskins have revamped their offense but don't really have a solid QB to run the show. Spurier's second season of frustration will begin. Sunday New England/Buffalo Under 46. 2 Units. This is our first totals play of the season. These teams are bitter rivals especially now that Bills added another former Patriot Lawyer Malloy. One team may get into the 20's but that is it. Cincinnati (+6) over Denver. 1 Unit. This is a big game in Cincy, the beginning of a new era and they need to get off to a good start so the Brown Family will continue to spend money on what HC Lewis says the team needs. Denver should do okay, but 6 points is too much this early in the season. Member Picks Carolina (-4) over Jacksonville. 3 Units. Carolina played impressively last year under their solid new head coach and Jacksonville has a new HC this year. While both had solid pre-seasons, Carolina's dominant defense will be tough to score on, and Carolina should win by double digits. Arizona (+4) over Detroit. 2 Units. Detroit will be trying to break in a new running back this week and that should leave their mediocre passing exposed. Not that Arizona is a good team either, but giving them 4 points in these circumstances is too much. Kansas City (-5.5) over San Diego. 2 Units. KC has a happy Priest Holmes and a generally healthy team while San Diego now needs to find a new identity since the Seau is gone. The Chiefs will be get off to great start with a big win. New Orleans (+3) over Seattle. 3 Units. New Orleans has been a great road dog over the past few years should be able to add another notch in their belt this week. Look for New Orleans to throw deep against the replacement for injured All Pro Springs. Monday Night Philadelphia (-3) over Tampa Bay. 2 Units. This game will be a dog fight into the third quarter when the Eagles superior offense will break though and win my a TD or more. |
