Turkey Trot Triple Play and Bonus Game

Bonus Game - Thursday Night

Ole Miss (-3) over Mississippi St.  5 Stars.  The offenses will settle the Egg Bowl this season because the Ole Miss Rebels have an offense where the Miss St. Bulldogs don't.  Eli Manning is having a great year in his first full season at quarterback with 26 TD's and only 3 Interceptions.  The Rebel offense has averaged over 36 points a game this season while Miss St. is averaging a mere 14 points a game.  Both teams have average to below average defenses which should allow Eli Manning to have another strong day.  In the series, the home team (Miss St.) has failed to cover in 6 of the last 7 and Miss St. is only 1-4 ATS at home.

Friday

C-USA Game of the Month:  Louisville (-8) over TCU.  6 Stars.  Louisville has had a fantastic season going 10-1 SU and locking up a Liberty Bowl bid.  Louisville has won 4 of their last 5 ATS and 7 straight games SU.  TCU is not playing for anything here with their season already finished and they are just playing out their games in their new conference.  Louisville has won every game but one by 10 or more points and has covered 8 of 10 on the Road.

Saturday

Rivalry Weekend Game of the Year: Pitt (-3.5) over West Virginia. 7 Stars.  Who woke up Pitt from their season long slumber?  They have won three straight games as blowouts at Temple and Rutgers and hosting Va. Tech.  West Virginia lost to Temple last week as a heavy favorite at home and has nothing going for them right now.  A win by Pitt keeps them in the bowl picture with another winnable game the following week.  West Virginia is 3-7 ATS at home and will be facing a Pitt team off a bye week.  The Stat to note here is that West Virginia is 2-15 SU as a dog and 1-23-1 ATS when they lose at home.

La. Tech (-19) over Tulsa.  5 Stars.  Tech got blown out last week by Kansas State because they are focused on this game.  If La. Tech wins they are guaranteed at least a share of the WAC title in their first season in the league.  Tulsa has not covered a game this season and lost their last 9 games SU.  Tulsa is not good against the run nor the pass and commits too many turnovers.  This game will be the coronation confirming La. Tech as a power in the WAC.

Thursday

Illinois (-17.5) over Northwestern.  4 Stars.    Northwestern has fallen apart after their sudden rise from last season.  It is interesting to note that although the press and the polls liked the Wildcats at the beginning of the season, many of the nations leading college football prognosticators did not think that they would continue last year's sudden success.  Illinois should be in a BCS a bowl if they win and they are out to avenge last years 61-23 spanking at Northwestern.  Northwestern has several injuries at running back which forced their 4th string tailback to start last week against Bowling Green and they porous defense has allowed 158 points over the last 3 games.  In addition, Northwestern should be deflated after allowing 15 points in the last 150 seconds to lose at home against Bowling Green.  Illinois is just too good.

Friday

Texas (-13)  over Texas A&M. 3 Stars.  Texas, with a win coupled  with an Oklahoma loss in the conference championship or against Ok. State (Unlikely), should be in the BCS.  The Texas offense has only sputtered once the whole season averaging 41 points per game on the season and only allowing 12.  Texas has both offensive and defense power to beat up Texas A&M, who are in a bit of a funk only covering 1 of the last 6 games.  In addition, Texas has covered 6 of 8 in the series and 3 of the last for at the Aggies.

Nebraska (-9.5) over Colorado.  3 Stars.  This line is way to light for Nebraska.  Their offense and defenses are just too good this season.  They are 3-0 SU and ATS on the road and have had time off to prepare for this trip.  Colorado's offense has been improving, but with QB Ochs not at 100%, Nebraska grind the Buffalo stampeding offense to a standstill and corral them for slaughter.  This game will be ugly with Nebraska winning big.

Saturday

Penn State (+3) over Michigan St.  2 Stars.  Penn State has really turned their season around over the last 5 weeks covering 5 in a row and actually winning 4 of the 5 game straight up.  Penn State is 3-0 ATS this season on road while Michigan State has only covered in their upset win over Michigan.  If Penn State continues their winning ways, they will be bowl eligible.  Go with the Momentum play here, Penn State.

Rice (-6.5) over SMU.  3 Stars.  Rice needs a big win this week to try to lock up a bowl bid and go 9-3 SU on the season.  SMU has not improved this season with 18 returning starters and found out this week that their coach will not be invited back next season.   Rice with determination to play in a bowl for the first time in 40 years and to beat down their weakened rival for a second year in a row will prevail by 14.

South Florida (-6) over Utah State.  3 Stars.   We know you are asking who are these teams.  South Florida will have the most wins of any independent team in the nation this season with 7 wins already on the books.  South Florida is playing their 6th consecutive game at home where they have scored an over 48 points per game on average during this 5 game win streak.  To top things of they have had a weak off to prepare for Utah State who is coming off a high scoring battle against Weber St where they allowed 43 points and 500 yards.
