Thursday Night

East Carolina (-1.5) over Louisville.  3 Stars.  These two teams are the class of C-USA this season and are basically playing for the conference title this week since both are undefeated in conference.  East Carolina has played some strange football the last two weeks because they dominated in the first half and rolled over in the second half but still won the games.  This season will be the breakthrough season for ECU where they will finally win the conference title and this game.  This game will be close but we don't see ECU losing at home in this situation.

The Moss Report's Close Conference Clashes Triple Play

Play each game for the units stated and then play 3 - 2 Team Parlays for 1 Unit Each.  If you go 3 - 0 you will win over 26 units.  If you go 2 - 1 ATS you will about 5 to 9 units.

****Update 1 PM Friday.  The line is back on the board at Illinois (-1.5).  Keep it as a 5 Star play and keep all of the parlays the same.****

Illinois (+2.5) over Ohio State.  5 Stars.   This game is a must win for Illinois to hold on to their shot at the Big Ten title an a spot in the BCS.  This Illinois team came into the season with low expectations and Kurt Kittner has finally fulfilled the promise he showed two seasons ago.  Illinois has ruled this series covering 12 of the last 16.    Ohio State does not really care about this game since they travel to Michigan next week and it shows in their past performances going 1-5-2 ATS before traveling to Michigan.

Big XII Game of the Year:  Iowa State (-8.5 ) over Kansas.  7 Stars.  Iowa State has had their problems the last couple of weeks, putting them in must win situation to go to a bowl.  This team has performed well when favored covering the spread on all four occasions (twice at home and twice on the road).  In addition the Cyclones have covered 3 of 4 on the road and are 6-0 ATS as a road favorite.  Kansas is in turmoil after their coach was let go two weeks ago and has not covered at home this season.  They have lost 5 straight games ATS and SU.  They have no offense and their defense can't stop anyone.  Over the last 3 games, Kansas has scored 13 points and allowed 140.  This will be a huge get healthy and happy game for Iowa State.

SEC Game of the Year:  Arkansas (-7.5) over Mississippi St.  7 Stars.  Arkansas has won games in a row and shown some offensive pop now that they have a passing QB and a frosh option QB splitting time running the offense.  Defensively they have gotten the job done and allowing not enough points for the other team to win.  This week will be the blow out they have been waiting for.  Mississippi St. has lost 7 straight games and have shown no signed of coming out of their slumber going 2-5 ATS during the run.  Arkansas is lethal at home going 17-4-1 ATS over the past 4 seasons including 4-0-1 ATS this year.  Go Hog Wild with Razorbacks.

Saturday's Free Picks

Maryland (-3) over N.C. State.  4 Stars.  Maryland pulled off a great win last week over Clemson and now they are just this one game away from a conference championship and a BCS bowl bid.   Maryland's defense will slow down the Wolfpack offense led by super soph QB Phil Rivers.   This game means so much more to Maryland then it does for N.C. State, who as 6-3 SU is already bowl eligible.

Georgia/Ole Miss over 56.5 .  2 Stars.  Ole Miss has shown to have a strong offense this season not scoring less then 21 points all season and average 39 per game.  Neither Georgia's nor Mississippi's defenses have held any team in check to be a dominant force in any game this season.  Offense will rule the day with both teams breaking the 30 point barrier.

Buffalo (+6) over Akron.  2 Stars.  Go, Bills, Go.  Buffalo is coming their second straight SU win as an over two touchdown dog.  Why not let it happen again?  Buffalo has improved dramatically since the beginning of the season under their new coach already winning three game and going 6-3-1 ATS.  Akron is playing their third straight game on the road and have failed to 5 of their last 6 games.  Akron has a terrible defense that allows 150 more yards per game then Buffalo.  These teams are going different directions, pick the home team.

Washington St. (-1.5) over Washington.  2 Stars.  Washington State has shown to be a superior offensive team this season.  The Cougars are 5-0 SU and ATS on the road and looking at a shot at being a BCS bowl team and PAC-10 champs if they win.  Washington still has a another game left to play at Miami which will be an interesting game for both teams with Miami in the middle of a tough stretch of games.  While the Apple Cup is a big rivalry game, Washington may lose focus since they are out of the PAC-10 Title race.  Go with the team with the better offense, better defense, and a better record, Washington State.

Marshall (-24.5) over Ohio U.  3 Stars.  We were lucky to pick Ohio earlier in the season when they got their one and only win.  This week we are going against them for precisely the same reason, they stink and have thrown in the towel.  Ohio U has been shut out the last two weeks and has lost 4 in a row SU and ATS.  Marshall is on a roll with only one loss (at Florida) on the season so far and they have covered their last three.  They just out score everyone they play with their offense averaging over 500 yards per game.  Marshall will run and pass their way to a 30+ point win to avenge last season's loss to Ohio U.

Rice (-22) over UTEP. 3 Stars.  Rice is the third best team in the WAC this season and UTEP is maybe just a little better then the atrocious Tulsa.  Rice cruised last week against a defenseless Tulsa and should do the same to UTEP who has lost 5 in a row SU and ATS.  Rice also lost to UTEP two years ago when they were 5-5 and had a bowl opportunity taken away.  Again last year they lost to UTEP, Rice is 7-2 ATS at home with revenge and 7-0 ATS at home after scoring > 35 points.  Rice will run UTEP into the ground with revenge on their minds and to get their 8th win of the year.
