Selections of 9/20 and 9/22

Thursday's Selection

Miss. St (-3) over South Carolina.  2 Stars.  OVER 39.5. 2 Stars.  We like Miss. St. as the home team in this match-up where we think both teams will score some points.

Saturday Selections

Grand Slam Picks

Instructions:  Bet 5 Units on each game.  Bet 4 - 1 Unit 3 Team Parlays made up of 3 of the 4 teams, so you will have every 3 team combination covered.  Bet 1 - 1 Unit 4 Team Parlay.

Virginia Tech (-27) over Rutgers.  5 Stars.  Mismatch!!!  Michael Vick and Lee Suggs were not the sole reasons for Tech success over the past few seasons.  This team has a strong defense and has depth across the board.  Virginia Tech has a 10 - 1 ATS record in their first conference games and has won their last 7 lined road openers.  Rutgers suffered their worst defeat in 5 years two weeks ago and does not look strong this season.  They are 1 - 7 ATS when getting 20 or more points.

Iowa State (+2) over Ohio U.  5 Stars.  Iowa St. is a team on the rise with a strong returning running back and new quarterback with a great pedigree.  Ohio has not played well in their two losses.  Although Iowa State is untested, they are clearly in a different class then Ohio U.  Iowa St. has covered 5 of 6 on the road and 7 of 8 non-conference games.

Northwestern (-16) over Duke.  5 Stars.  Okay so Duke actually covered against Rice and they actually blew an opportunity to win the game, but they lost their 14th game in a row.  Northwestern played well against UNLV giving up two late bombs and still covered the spread.  Northwestern will win this game by three touchdowns.  Northwestern is 31-0 ATS in their last 31 straight-up road wins.  In laymen's terms, when Northwestern wins on the road they cover.

Middle Tennessee State (-20.5) over UL-Monroe.  5 Stars.  Middle Tennessee State averages 600 yards per game on offense and Monroe averages less then 200 per game.  UL-Monroe is the worst team in college football this century (remember that is only since 2000).  MTSU is 6 - 1 ATS on the road in lined games.  This will be another walk in the park for MTSU and the Blue Raiders will continue to make us money.

Free Picks

Boston College (-21) over Navy.  3 Stars.   Navy was demolished by Georgia Tech and they should be again against a BC team with one of the nations best running backs.  BC is 12 -1 ATS as favs greater then 15 points and Navy is 4 - 14 ATS as a double digit home dog.   But forget history, Navy is just another bad eastern football team.

Clemson (-11.5) over Virginia.  3 Stars.  Clemson has not looked strong to begin this season, so we hope they took their two week break to find their hearts.  Clemson has covered four straight conference openers and covers 75% of the home contests.  Virginia lost their leading running back and is having trouble deciding who will be quarterback.  Look for the home team to take control early and cruise into victory lane.

Cincinnati (-2.5) over Miami, Oh.  2 Stars.  Cincinnati seems to play up or down to their competition, but this week they come into to play a weak Miami team that is not a strong play as a small dog.  Cincy has won 4 of the last 5 in the series and 8 - 2 ATS in their last 10 non conference games.

UCLA (-6.5) over Ohio State.  2 Stars.  UCLA has impressed out of the gates this season with wins at Alabama and Kansas.  They have a strong offense and an improved defense.  They have covered 7 straight home openers.  Ohio State's new coach is going to be in over his head in his first trip to the Rose Bowl.

Washington State (-14) over Cal.  3 Stars.  The Cougars have beaten the state of Idaho and now they move into conference play.  The home team has dominated this series going 10 - 2 ATS and there is no reason why they will not win again.  Wassu has come out of the gates fast as we have picked them the past two weeks, and traditionally under HC Price they have been strong in the beginning of the season.  Cal has looked bad so far this season on the wrong end of two blowouts at home.
